What will you do?
You will play and test the games thoroughly, focusing on identifying linguistic bugs. As a perfectionist, you'll communicate clearly in English to report issues using bug databases, ensuring clarity across global teams.
What would you do at work?
* Ensure games and applications are linguistically bug-free to provide the best user experience
* Check in-game text for linguistic accuracy, correctness, and cultural appropriateness
* Follow Universally Speaking's established LQA processes and standards
* Use industry-standard bug databases to write detailed bug reports
* Take ownership to verify bugs are fixed and correctly implemented
* Develop expertise across a range of projects, specializing as needed
* Create, manage, and execute test cases throughout the project lifecycle
* Participate in gathering test requirements with developers to support comprehensive testing
* Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies
* Collaborate with the QA team

Requirements
You are a great match if you:
* Are an expert in Japanese
* Have proficiency in written and spoken English
* Are passionate about video games
* Are a team player, capable of working under pressure and tight deadlines
* Are proactive, persistent, and enthusiastic
* Have a keen eye for detail and focus on quality
* Are proficient with computers, including MS Office Suite, database handling, and record keeping
* Have the right to work in the UK
It’s useful if you have some of the following, but training can be provided:
* Experience in LQA, translation, or proofreading
* Familiarity with LQA software tools, test case management, and text editing tools
* Knowledge of CAT tools (e.g., MemoQ)
* Understanding of the video game industry and trends
* Higher degree in linguistics (desirable but not essential)
