Join us in shaping the future of family support in Devon.
We’re transforming how families, children, and young people (0–19 and up to 25 for those with SEND) access help—making it simpler, more joined-up, and rooted in their communities. Through our Devon Family Hubs, we’re bringing together the Best Start for Children and Neighbourhood Health Services and within the Families First Programme, to deliver integrated support that focuses on prevention and Early Help ensuring families can easily access the right help at the right time.
We’re looking to appoint a Family Hub Support Worker on a permanent full time 37 hour contract, to join our vibrant Family Hub team in Northern & Mid Devon, based as Bideford Family Hub—an exciting opportunity to help shape and deliver this innovative, community-focused approach to supporting families.
About the role
The key function of this role is to work with partner agencies to develop robust partnership processes and relationships to support children, young people, and families, as early as possible to avoid the need for statutory services. Contribute and share information and resources from your service area and/ or from within a local community which you are aware of to form part of any Family Hub network, model, and place locally for families of all types and practitioners.
The role will also be to provide a flexible and agile offer to families, which is place based, outreach and virtual in its delivery model. The role will be family facing by supporting improvements in outcomes for children and families through the delivery of advice and guidance, delivery of group support and learning opportunities, in partnership with families, the community and our Early Help Partnership.
The post holder will take a Whole Family approach in their practice and work around the times of the family. As such, this post will be expected to work flexibly including at evenings and weekends when needed.
As part of this approach this role will be expected to work as part of an integrated Family Hub Team and Family Hub network of partners in providing support to children, young people and families. Family Hubs will operate as part of the wider Early help offer in Devon, where children and families are placed at the heart of what we do. Family Hubs are intended to be a local innovation developed to meet local needs and better support families
