An amazing job opportunity has arisen for a committed Deputy Ward Manager/Charge Nurse to work in an exceptional hospital based in Hassocks, West Sussex. You will be working for one of UK's leading healthcare providers.
This hospital offers high-quality care to patients across various service lines including low secure, PICU, locked rehabilitation (Personality Disorder), and acute services.
To be considered for this position, you must be qualified as an RMN or RNLD Nurse with a current active NMC Pin.
As the Deputy Ward Manager/Charge Nurse, your key responsibilities include:
1. Leading the nursing team on the ward and managing shifts.
2. Deputising for the Ward Manager, providing cover and assisting with the ward and team management.
3. Providing high-quality care and leading by example to junior staff.
4. Developing therapeutic relationships to optimise patient engagement.
5. Following all codes of conduct, standards, legislation, respecting rights, and promoting ethical practice.
6. Contributing to patient assessments, care planning, and monitoring progress.
7. Mentoring, supporting, and supervising student nurses and team members.
8. Promoting professional development within the team.
9. Carrying out sit coordination duties when required.
The following skills and experience are preferred and beneficial:
1. Experience in a supervisory role.
2. At least 3 years post-registration experience.
3. Ability to assess and teach junior staff.
4. Proven ability to coordinate care, prioritize tasks, and manage health & safety issues.
5. Drive to learn and develop.
6. Commitment to patient-centered, values-based, and evidence-based practice.
The successful candidate will receive an attractive salary of £43,014 - £46,314 per annum DOE. This is a permanent, full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. Benefits include:
