About the role
The Head of Fundraising role is a new role will lead our fundraising across multiple income streams including trusts and foundations, community fundraising, major donors and partnerships. They will lead a team of 3 fundraisers, develop and implement a fundraising strategy that meets the organisation’s goals and creates excellent Return on Investment. The fundraising team sits within the Development Division, where we are building an exciting, enhanced Fundraising and Business Development function within the charity and we want you to be an essential part of this exciting process.
We want you to have an entrepreneurial attitude, one where you are excited about the prospect of building and delivering new and exciting income streams for the charity that not only provide us with greater income but also enhance our mission to make sure that no one has to face mental ill health alone.
This role is both strategic and operational. We will need you to work closely with the Director of Development to help set the priorities and develop our Fundraising Strategy but you will also need to support the Trusts and Foundations Fundraising Manager and the Community Fundraising Manager. We believe in mucking in and that might mean that you take on a trust and foundation application or help organise and attend a community fundraising event. You yourself would help identify where you could add the most capacity and help the whole team achieve any fundraising targets.
Key responsibilities
* Creates and implements an innovative fundraising strategy that generates new income for the charity.
* Helps set and achieve ambitious fundraising goals
* Ensures high quality stewardship of donors
* Lead a team of fundraisers to ensure that we are utilising the most productive income streams for the organisation and are getting excellent return on investment.
* Co-ordinate and manage fundraising comprising; community, trust, corporate, major donor and digital fundraising, across the organisation
* Build powerful and long-lasting relationships with funders, staff, people we support and members
* Develop and lead our traded income propositions including our training and consultancy business and potential future retail/hospitality opportunities
* Build and enhance our different fundraising functions, working closely with communications to develop and implement a marketing strategy.
* Is a senior leader across the charity, taking ownership of our development and ensuring that we have the plans and resources in place to match our ambitions.
* Solve problems as they arise and coach your team to do the same
* Analyse the fundraising systems, processes and ways of working and maximise their impact
* Build and develop new fundraising streams including mass events and legacy fundraising.
