Operating across vehicle sales, leasing and aftersales services, the organisation is experiencing strong expansion and is now strengthening its internal finance capability. Your new role
The Assistant Accountant will support the Financial Controller with the day‑to‑day running of the finance function, helping to ensure accurate financial information is delivered on time. This is a varied and hands‑on role offering exposure to month‑end processes, transactional finance andmercial reporting.Key Responsibilities
1. Assist with preparation of monthly management accounts
2. Support month‑end processes including journals, accruals and prepayments
3. Reconcile balance sheet accounts and bank accounts
4. Maintain purchase and sales ledger entries and ensure accurate coding
5. Process supplier invoices and support payment runs
6. Assist with credit control and customer account reconciliations when required
7. Prepare weekly cashflow updates and assist with variance analysis
8. Provide financial support to operational teams across the dealership network
9. Maintain accurate financial records in line withpany policies
10. Support year‑end audit preparation and respond to auditor queries
11. Assist with ad‑hoc reporting and finance projects
What you'll need to succeed
12. Previous experience in an accounts or finance support role
13. Strong Excel skills and accuracy in handling financial data
14. Excellentmunication and organisational skills
15. Ability to work to deadlines in a busy environment
16. A proactive approach and willingness to learn
17. Studying towards AAT or another accounting qualification (desirable, not essential)
