Amazon Logistics is experiencing unprecedented growth and is looking to hire an experienced, innovative, hands-on, and customer-obsessed Project Manager responsible for network-wide projects from concept to handover across all sites. This includes new site launches, dilapidations, and critical projects from an engineering and facilities perspective. Full UK legal and statutory compliance knowledge is required to ensure all project details exceed standards, align with existing processes, and develop new concepts.
Responsibilities include:
* Leading and coordinating design efforts between internal teams and external vendors for Amazon’s logistical network, including equipment specifications and FC layouts.
* Managing capital projects, including creating conceptual drawings, equipment specifications, and bid documentation for competitive bidding.
* Providing on-site monitoring and enforcement of installation schedules and vendor quality standards.
* Inspecting facilities to ensure compliance with corporate standards and managing follow-up on snagging lists and warranties.
* Leading and coordinating between internal departments and MHE vendors across multiple sites.
* Developing and managing budgets and contracts, including RFPs, change orders, purchase orders, and invoicing.
* Coordinating operator training, procedural compliance, and maintenance practices for new and existing MHE equipment.
* Creating, submitting, and tracking Capex documentation to ensure timely and within-budget project delivery.
* Collaborating closely with UK Real Estate, IT, Process teams, and software and Operations Integration teams to ensure project timelines are met.
* Understanding operational processes and daily use of WMS tools.
Basic Qualifications:
* B.S. Degree in Engineering or related discipline.
* Experience in equipment design and layout of mechanical handling, conveyance, or packaging systems.
* Proven leadership in large-scale, complex project development and implementation.
* Deep knowledge of industry practices, including Lean Manufacturing.
* Proficiency in MS Excel, AutoCAD, MS Project, and related software.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Willingness to travel throughout the UK depending on project location.
* Ability to design, specify, and layout MHE solutions from manual to automated systems.
* Strong influencing, negotiation, and communication skills with internal and external partners.
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
* Leadership and technical guidance experience, with knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Toyota Production System.
* Capability to justify and deliver complex solutions within capacity constraints.
* Ability to switch between strategic and hands-on approaches.
* Experience leading multi-disciplinary projects in dynamic environments.
