Assistant Quantity Surveyor
My client is a medium sized main contractor who work on a wide range of projects: Residential, Healthcare, Education etc - ranging up to £10m.
If you are a junior level QS who wishes to gain exposure and be fast tracked to running your own small projects, this opportunity would be perfect for you.
What you will be doing
* Preparing trade scope and works
* Collation and issue of subcontract tenders
* Prepare subcontractors appointment and proposal documents
* Preparing subcontract documentation for signing by both parties in accordance with BH's Call Off Contract procedure.
* Certifying subcontractor payments
* Assessing variations with subcontractor
* Preparing final account with subcontractors
* Assisting with Surveyors' monthly cost reports
* Attending subcontractor progress meetings as required
* Assisting in production of contractual letters to subcontractors when requested
* Assisting Project team with financial implications of site progress decisions
* Measurement of elements incorporated into designs to establish value and extent of works
Requirements
* At least 1+ years experience working within a QS position in the UK
* An excellent approach to work and professional outlook on the construction industry
* Main contractor/developer experience desired but not essential
* Strong references
* Computer literate
* Excellent communication skills
* Solid commercial acumen
* Educated to a degree level or equivalent (BSc Quantity Surveying preferred)
