Money and Pensions Service (MaPS) are seeking a Senior Insight Manager for a Fixed Term 6 Month Contract. You must be highly organised and have expert knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research, from this you must be able to extract insights from data and produce quality reports and presentations. Money and Pensions Service (MaPS) brings together the free services delivered by the Money Advice Service, The Pensions Advisory Service and Pension Wise. We are an Arms-Length organisation, sponsored by the Department for Work and Pensions, with a joint commitment to ensuring that people have access and guidance to the information they need to make effective financial decisions over their lifetime. The organisation will also engage with HM Treasury, which is responsible for policy on financial capability and debt advice. Working hand-in-hand with stakeholders throughout the UK, the Money and Pensions Service will ensure that money and pensions guidance is available to those that need it, adapting to peoples changing needs throughout their lives. The Senior Insight Manager will drive MaPS approach to voice of the customer data and insight, building a robust programme of work that withstands external scrutiny and drives evidenced based decision making. They will spearhead the design of a new Customer Pulse voice-of-customer programme, incorporating feedback from internal stakeholders and potential research partners As a subject matter expert on voice-of-customer, they will provide MaPS with accurate, engaging and actionable insights, ensuring the key messages are consistently heard and understood by both internal stakeholders, senior MaPS colleagues and external parties. They will manage a team of Insight Managers to deliver a particular programme of work but will work alongside the other Senior Managers to ensure successful delivery of the wider teams operational plan. The Senior Insight Manager will report directly to the Head of Insight and Evaluation. In this role you will be responsible for the following: Developing and overseeing a full programme of insight work, focussing predominantly on the Customer, i.e. those engaging with MaPS services to understand satisfaction and outcomes Overseeing the design and implementation of a new large scale ongoing research programme, and other ad hoc research projects as required Ensuring business needs get translated into designing effective, high quality and value-for-money insight projects based on business needs Leading a team of Insight Managers, and playing a significant role in mentoring the wider team Developing and maintaining effective external relationships with key stakeholders, to promote and share insights for the benefit of MaPS and the wider sector Performance management of research suppliers, ensuring relationships are maintained and trouble-shooting where needed Build and maintain strong relationships with subject matter experts across the business, and championing the work of the team Attend Executive Committee / Board meetings as required to offer expertise, present findings and to propose business cases Extracting, interpreting, summarising and communicating key insights in an engaging and action focussed way. Producing high-quality outputs (reports, presentations, blogs etc) that promote MaPS work and are suitable for external scrutiny Regular dialogue with internal business partners (e.g. Commercial, Finance, HR, Compliance, Risk etc) to ensure all contracts are fully compliant with internal guidelines and budgets This is not meant to be an exhaustive list of duties. Person specification You will need to demonstrate the following skills and experience: Essential: Strong experience in leading and mentoring insight teams A competent and engaging presenter to different audiences, including internal colleagues, executive teams and external stakeholders Experience in designing and directing large scale quantitative research surveys (ideally customer experience related), with an excellent all round knowledge of core research methodologies Highly organised, with ability to problem solve, and reprioritise workloads to ensure the best business outcome Can extract genuine stories and insights from data, and communicating these effectively through high quality reports, presentations and wider company communications Ability to champion the work of the team, and seek opportunities to land key messages Proven ability in managing partner agencies, to ensure delivery of contracts to time and quality Excellent networking skills, ensuring regular dialogue with internal and external subject matter experts and key stakeholders Desirable: Strong influencing and communication skills, ensuring the customer is at the heart of business decisions.
