As part of our Active Life team, you’ll play a key role in supporting service users experiencing mental health challenges through structured, person-centred fitness and wellbeing programmes. As an Active Life Trainer, you will: Deliver tailored physical activity sessions—gym inductions, 1:1 plans, and group classes—to support mental and physical health Help service users identify and achieve meaningful wellbeing goals through the Active Life referral pathway Work collaboratively with clinical and therapeutic teams in an acute mental health setting Promote recovery through movement, motivation, and safe, adaptive exercise interventions on and off site. Receive professional development while supporting others. We’re looking for someone who is: A team player with a person-centred approach and strong communication skills Level 2 Gym Instructor qualification (CIMSPA-accredited or nationally recognised equivalent) UKCC Level 1 Coaching Qualification GCSE Maths and English (Grade C/4 or above), or Functional Skills Level 2 Energetic, empathetic, and passionate about mental health recovery Confident in supporting individuals with a wide range of physical and emotional needs. Desirable but not essential: Experience working in mental health or learning disability services. Knowledge of adapting exercise for people experiencing low motivation, trauma, or anxiety.
