Are you an enthusiastic and motivated Occupational Therapist? Are you passionate about working with older people with mental health concerns? The Newark & Sherwood Community Mental Health team provides assessment and treatment for people over the age of 65 with mental health needs and for people of any age with a dementia diagnosis. The team covers the Newark & Sherwood locality and operates Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm.
This post is a rewarding and essential role contributing to the delivery of high quality treatment to our patients in the community. We welcome applications from experienced Occupational Therapists, including those who have retired and wish to return to the profession.
Responsibilities
* To provide an occupational therapy service for older people with complex mental health needs / dementia who are referred to the service, including providing duty cover for the team.
* To carry out specialist occupational therapy assessment, goal setting, implementation of treatment programmes and evaluation.
* To establish the needs of individuals referred to the service and plan care with colleagues from health, social services, families, and the voluntary sector.
* To represent and promote the specialist role of Occupational Therapy.
DBS and Professional Requirements
Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. The DBS application cost is £26.40 (standard) or £54.40 (enhanced); this cost will be deducted from salary over the first 2 months of employment. You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. An annual fee of £16 per year applies.
A full UK driving licence and vehicle for business use is required for this post; however reasonable adjustments will be made for disabled individuals in line with the Equality Act 2010.
