We're looking for a skilled and passionate Chef to join our care home team on a bank basis, helping to create meals that not only nourish but delight. Why This Role Matters
As a Bank Chef, you'll be an essential part of the home's daily rhythm. From hearty breakfasts to comforting lunches and light evening meals, you'll be crafting dishes that support the health, dignity, and wellbeing of our residents many of whom live with complex dietary needs.
What You'll Be Doing
* Preparing and serving delicious hot and cold meals, tailored to individual dietary requirements
* Planning menus alongside the Head Chef, focusing on balance, nutrition, and fresh ingredients
* Running the kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef from ordering and stock rotation to budgeting and record-keeping
* Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene, in line with food safety regulations
* Keeping records of temperatures, supplies, and cleaning routines
* Contributing to a positive mealtime experience that residents genuinely enjoy
What We're Looking For
* A culinary qualification such as City & Guilds 706 1&2 (or working towards it)
* Experience in preparing food for diverse dietary needs ideally in a care home or healthcare setting
* Basic Food Hygiene Certificate and a good understanding of kitchen safety protocols
* A team player who communicates well and thrives in a close-knit, supportive environment
* Someone with initiative, happy to take the lead in the kitchen when needed
