About The Role:
We are looking for a proactive Project Manager to lead and deliver a variety of facilities, M&E, and store‑environment projects across our retail estate. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on ownership, pace, and stakeholder collaboration ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to a high standard.
You'll work closely with our Facilities Management team, contractors, and store colleagues to bring projects from scope through to handover, ensuring minimal disruption and maximum value for the business.
The Project Manager wil l be responsible for proactively and independently managing all aspects of project development/delivery within the Capital Programme in the UK. This includes planning, coordinating, and executing the replacement of key assets such as lifts, escalators, HVAC, and fire alarm systems, ensuring compliance with safety
standards, budget constraints, and timelines.
Days of working:
3 x days a week minimum in the field
1 x day a week WFH / Watford office (to be agreed by Line Manager with sufficient notice)
1 x day a week WFH
What we are looking for:
Project Scoping & Planning
Develop multiple project scopes in partnership with the FM team, ensuring alignment with operational and commercial objectives.
Create, maintain, and track detailed project programmes, schedules, and progress trackers.
Project Delivery
Deliver projects on time, within budget, and in compliance with quality, technical, and regulatory standards.
Conduct risk assessments, proactively managing issues such as lead times, store access, and landlord constraints.
Ensure projects are fully resourced and supported by strong relationships with contractors, suppliers, and internal teams.
Stakeholder Management
Communicate clearly with store colleagues, contractors, FM teams, local authorities, and other stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
Chair weekly progress meetings, producing accurate minutes and distributing updates to key contacts.
Keep retail teams informed of key dates, changes, delays, or escalations.
Site & Quality Management
Manage travel to store locations for pre-start, interim, and handover meetings.
Lead the handover process, ensuring installation quality, compliance, and complete O&M documentation.
Technical & Supplier Coordination
Work with E‑ON to integrate control systems and expedite post-visit documentation.
Prepare tenders, obtain quotations, analyse bids, and award contracts in line with procurement policies.
Record and monitor project issues, escalating promptly where required.
What We're Looking For
Desirable:
A recognised Project Management qualification (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP, APM).
Experience delivering facilities, M&E, HVAC, or building‑services projects.
A background in Facilities Management, property, retail fit‑out, or similar environments.
Comfortable working across multiple fast-paced projects with varied stakeholders.
