Our client is currently recruiting for an Aircraft Maintenance Planner/Controller on a permanent basis at their MRO facility in Dorset.

Job overview

This position will be responsible for the effective execution of maintenance/production planning and control activities in accordance with all applicable Aviation Regulations and International Standards.


Key Responsibilities

1. Scheduling maintenance work to ensure it does not interfere with other tasks, considering personnel, tools, equipment, materials, maintenance data, and facilities.
2. Supporting maintenance teams and shifts during work to ensure timely completion without undue pressure.
3. Coordinating with Procurement & Supply Chain to ensure timely availability of parts and pre-kitting requirements.
4. Managing hangar and accommodation availability, including environmental conditions like lighting and heating.
5. Estimating and planning man-hours accurately to guarantee on-time maintenance completion.
6. Scheduling critical tasks during periods of high staff alertness, considering human factors.
7. Creating and managing detailed Base Maintenance Input Plans, ensuring they stay on schedule through stakeholder engagement and reporting.


Experience, Skills, and Qualifications

1. Proven experience in Aviation Production Planning & Control principles and practices.
2. Knowledge of EASA, UK CAA, UK Military, and FAA Aviation Regulations (theoretical and practical) - advantageous.
3. Knowledge of ISO standards (9001, 45001, 14001, 27001) in aviation - advantageous.
4. Understanding of Safety Management System (SMS) principles - advantageous.
5. Technical qualifications: EASA / CAA / Other Part 66 B1/B2 Aircraft Engineer License or equivalent, or relevant aerospace degree, or relevant apprenticeship/industry experience.
6. Aircraft Type Training or General Familiarisation Training - advantageous.
7. Ability to hold an SC-Level security clearance.
