Community Staff Nurse – Special School Nursing
Due to additional funding, there is an exciting opportunity to expand the already well‑established Special school and complex needs nursing team in Redbridge.
We are looking for registered Paediatric nurses who will work as a member of the Specialist School Nursing Team, supporting a defined caseload of children and young people aged 3‑19 years with complex healthcare needs and disabilities within the community and school settings. You will assess, manage, plan, and deliver care, being professionally and legally accountable.
1. Work in schools and manage clinical care for children with learning disabilities and complex health needs.
2. Collaborate with other professionals and agencies to meet identified care needs.
3. Establish and maintain effective communication with parents, carers, education staff, and external agencies to ensure children achieve their full potential.
4. Provide training and support to non‑medical staff in daily care activities and continence assessments.
5. Act as a reflective practitioner, delivering evidence‑based services and meeting service and clinical governance targets.
6. Co‑ordinate holistic and equality of care, engage with GPs, primary care, and other statutory agencies.
7. Undertake mandatory training and maintain knowledge of evidence‑based practice.

* Probationary period – subject to a probationary period unless internal applicant.
* High‑Cost Area Supplement – 15% of basic salary pro‑rata for part‑time staff.
