Special Events Manager
Fixed‑term contract, 12 months (maternity cover)
Location: Peterborough office (flexible hybrid working)
Salary: £34,000 - £37,500 per annum (full‑time equivalent, depending on experience)
Hours: Full‑time 37.5 hours per week (part‑time considered, minimum 30 hours)
Overview
Kidney Research UK is looking for a Special Events Manager to lead the Special Events portfolio, driving income generation and stewardship events in support of our kidney disease mission.
Responsibilities
* Develop and deliver a range of high‑quality events, including gala dinners, engagement events, online auctions, virtual events, and a golf day.
* Work closely with senior internal and external stakeholders to ensure events meet strategic objectives and deliver high value.
* Oversee all event stages from concept to completion, managing budgets, contracts, and procurement.
* Provide on‑the‑day operations management, coordinating staff and volunteer teams.
* Maintain relationships with key suppliers and partners, and lead an event committee.
* Produce and implement a strategic plan to grow unrestricted income for our Transforming Treatments campaign.
Requirements
* Proven project management experience with large, income‑generating events.
* Strong budgeting and expenditure management skills.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
* Ability to lead teams on event days and coordinate with volunteers.
* Experience in planning and delivering virtual and hybrid events is an advantage.
