Velindre Cancer Service is seeking Consultant Pharmacist in Oncology to provide senior clinical leadership in the design, establishment, and delivery of a new CDK4/6 inhibitor clinic for patients receiving long-term systemic anticancer therapies (SACT) for Breast Cancer. This senior post represents a strategic opportunity to shape advanced pharmacy practice within oncology, embedding medicines expertise into outpatient care pathways and supporting sustainable service models in a multidisciplinary team. This post is undergoing approval by the Royal College of Pharmacy as a Consultant pharmacist-level post. As CDK4/6 inhibitor Clinic Lead, you will take clinical, professional and service responsibility for a new oncology service, working in partnership with oncologists, nursing teams and the wider MDT. The role will combine advanced clinical practice with service leadership and transformation. Main duties of the job Key responsibilities include: Establishing and leading the CDK4/6 inhibitor clinic Independent prescribing and advanced toxicity management Development of pathways, SOPs, governance and monitoring frameworks Leadership in medicines optimisation for SACT Using audit, outcomes data and patient experience to drive continuous improvement and demonstration of service value Acting as a senior pharmacy voice within tumour site and service-level MDTs This role offers a genuine opportunity to redefine how pharmacy contributes to long-term cancer treatment and survivorship care.
