Overview
Assistant Quantity Surveyor – Role at Tarmac in Widnes, Cheshire. Reporting into the Managing Quantity Surveyor, the successful Assistant Quantity Surveyor will ideally have experience in a similar industry and experience of working on Highways, Infrastructure or Maintenance Projects, or be looking to move into this area.
What you'll be doing
In this role, you as the successful Assistant Quantity Surveyor will carry out the following duties (not exhaustive):
* Be an integral member of the commercial team supporting the Managing Quantity Surveyor
* Build strong relationships with internal and client counterparts
* Engage and manage sub-contracts including tender enquiries, award and assessment of monthly payment applications
* Administrate commercial functions of contract management systems to facilitate billing
* Work on client invoicing and debt management
* Ensure all Tarmac and client processes are followed to minimise commercial risk
* Ensure all work completed is accurately valued
What we are looking for
As our successful Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will ideally have experience of the following:
* A drive and ambition to succeed
* Efficient and productive outputs
* NEC3/4 knowledge – although training can be provided to the right candidate
* Good interpersonal and problem-solving skills
* Good oral, written communication; and presentation skills with strong numeracy and analytical ability
* Process driven with commercial awareness
* Able to work independently when required
