What you will do:
• Oversee the design, development, and deployment of integration solutions, ensuring they meet quality standards and project objectives
• Review and approve changes, ensuring adherence to architectural principles and coding standards. You will rationalise and simplify integration solutions before and during their build
• Mentor and guide integration engineers as required, working with the Chapter Lead to ensure appropriate guidelines, standards and processes are in place and applied consistently
• Drive continuous improvement in software development processes, tools, and methodologies
• Minimise the creation of any new technical debt by managing delivery priorities with long term stability
• Support the Chapter Lead in their strategic objectives
• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, integrating relevant advancements into the development process
• Encourage and participate in experimentation and innovation within the chapter and across teams to solve complex technical challenges
• Present technical concepts to stakeholders, both technical and non-technical
• Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment that encourages innovation and continuous improvement

What you will need:
• 15+ years of engineering/development experience and familiarity with agile methodologies
• Experience with IBM integration and messaging technologies (IIB, ACE and MQ)
• Strong technical experience in designing and building IIB, ACE and MQ infrastructures
• Strong technical knowledge in development best practices for IIB, ACE and MQ
• Hands on experience of upgrading IIB, ACE and MQ
• In-depth knowledge of the systems, development practices and standards for the technology/chapter in which they will be operating
• Knowledge of DevOps best practices in CI/CD, automation, pipelines, testing, and source code management
• Knowledge of and experience using TDD & BDD development methodologies
• Experience with workflow and task management/delivery tooling such as Jira and Confluence
• Good understanding of Scripting, Containers, Cloud and Kubernetes
• Experience in software development/engineering and solution design at a senior level, working with Architecture and alongside multiple technology disciplines, including creation and maintenance of technical documentation and knowledge repositories
• Experience with Application Ownership, driving continuous improvement and technical roadmaps
• Experience working with onshore and offshore teams and working in an environment that includes 3rd party vendors and suppliers.
