This programme is designed for individuals with none or limited experience but a real desire to start a career in coding, programming, or web development. Skills shortages in the IT sector drive the need for entry-level candidates and career changers.
What you will do / Responsibilities
* Complete a structured, staged training pathway to build foundational programming and development skills.
* Gain industry-recognised certifications and create a portfolio to demonstrate your skills to potential employers.
* Develop a professional cv and LinkedIn profile highlighting skills, experience, and transferable abilities.
* Receive tutor and mentor support with 1-2-1 or group sessions.
* Progress through stages to prepare for an entry-level web development or programming role.
* Work with TieTalent to secure your first role in a coding, programming, or web development position.
Programme structure
* Stage 1 – Learn HTML and CSS (up to 12 weeks): complete professional courses; HTML Essentials (up to 6 weeks) and CSS Essentials (up to 6 weeks).
* Stage 2 – Additional Online Training (up to 12 weeks): Learn Command Line, Git & GitHub, JavaScript, Python 3.
* Stage 3 – Portfolio Website Project (1 week): build a personalised portfolio with exercises and guidelines.
* Stage 4 – Entry Level Web Administrator placement: assist in securing your first role; typical starting salary between £25K - £40K depending on prior knowledge or experience.
Additional study courses for continued development may be offered, including AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner and Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (completion is voluntary but recommended).
Qualifications / Eligibility
Open to individuals with none or limited programming experience who have a genuine desire to start a career in coding. If you are an experienced programmer, this programme may not be suitable.

* Possible entry-level roles include Junior Developer, Website Administrator, Website Support Developer, Junior Web Developer, Content Editor, Wordpress Developer, Junior Software Developer, Junior Front or Back End Developer, and Development Support.
