Fulcrum Recruitment is working with a well‑established UK contractor looking to appoint an experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor to lead the commercial function for a busy infrastructure delivery operation in West Yorkshire. This senior commercial leadership opportunity involves highways, bridges and structures maintenance across major road networks, local authority frameworks and tier‑one contractor environments. The business has over 30 years of experience, employs more than 300 people across multiple regional offices and has a strong reputation in specialist infrastructure maintenance, repair and refurbishment.
As Managing Quantity Surveyor you will act as the senior commercial lead for a busy regional operation, taking responsibility for commercial governance, NEC contract administration, change control, reporting and financial performance. You will report to the Commercial Director and work closely with the local Operations Manager, senior leadership team and wider project delivery teams. The role will also involve managing and mentoring a small Quantity Surveying team and strengthening best practice across live projects.
The contractor delivers planned and reactive highways and structures maintenance schemes, including bridge repair and maintenance, deck waterproofing, expansion joints, bearings, concrete repairs and wider highways maintenance works. The business also provides early contractor involvement, design support and specification input to help develop practical, buildable and commercially robust solutions.
This is a senior and visible commercial leadership role offering real influence over operational and commercial outcomes. The position would suit an experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor or a strong Senior Quantity Surveyor ready to step into a broader leadership role with responsibility for people, process, governance and commercial performance. You will be joining a stable and established employer with national capability, a specialist high‑demand service offering and clear scope to shape the commercial function across projects.
The package includes a competitive salary, car allowance and strong wider benefits, including pension, private healthcare, death in service, holiday entitlement and discretionary bonus provision. The role is primarily office‑based in West Yorkshire, with site travel as required and potential for some agreed home working.
