Control Systems Engineer Sheffield System Integrator - Permanent - £45-65k Office Based
Samuel Frank is recruiting a Control Systems Engineer for a successful Sheffield based systems integrator, with experience of writing PLC software from scratch. Control Systems Engineers with experience of Allen Bradley or Schneider or Mitsubishi systems and the associated SCADA packages will be considered favourably.
The office is commutable from Sheffield, Barnsley, Rotherham, South Leeds, Doncaster, Huddersfield, Wakefield, Chesterfield and Worksop.
Responsibilities
* Configure and develop PLC/SCADA software from scratch for client sites using a range of vendor systems including Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi and Schneider.
* Understand and deliver the project lifecycle from concept through to completion.
* Produce specifications and design documentation.
* Test and commission safely in operational end-user environments.
* Work an 80/20 split between being office based and on site for short periods (sites are typically regional but could be national).
* Support the company’s ongoing control system project work in the process sector (utilities, water treatment, food & drink, chemical and pharmaceutical sectors).
* Collaborate with other high-calibre Control Systems Engineers in a well-qualified team and contribute to a growing systems integrator with opportunities for training and career progression.
* Assist in achieving Chartered status and develop through strong programming and solid documentation experience.
* Engage in full project lifecycle involvement typical of a system integrator role.
* Utilise the best available equipment and a professional, modern working environment for delivery.
* Maintain the requirement to hold a UK driving licence and be able to work in the UK without sponsorship.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Strong programming skills with experience in PLC software development from scratch and documentation experience.
* Experience with Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi or Schneider PLC/SCADA systems.
* Degree qualified (preferred) with more than 5 years of relevant experience.
* Experience working in a system integrator environment with full project lifecycle involvement.
* Willingness to travel on-site for short periods and work in regions across the UK.
* UK driving licence and eligibility to work in the UK without sponsorship.
