Job Title: Multi Trade Operative
Location: Cornwall
We are working with a busy and reputable contractor to recruit an experienced MultTrade Operative to deliver responsive maintenance and repairs on MOD (Ministry of Defence) properties in Cornwall.
This role involves working within occupied and void military housing, where professionalism, reliability, and respect for residents are essential. You will be customer‑facing, ensuring a high standard of work while maintaining a safe and secure working environment.
Due to the nature of the contract, security clearance and background checks will be required.
The Role
As a MultTrade Operative, you will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of responsive repairs and maintenance tasks across MOD housing stock.
You will be expected to work efficiently, often independently, while delivering high‑quality workmanship and excellent customer service.
MultTrade Operative – Day to Day Duties:
* Attending properties across Cornwall to carry out responsive maintenance and repairs
* Completing a variety of trade tasks including:
o Carpentry repairs (doors, locks, kitchens, fencing)
o Basic plumbing (tap changes, leak repairs, sanitary ware)
o Tiling and patch repairs
o Painting and decorating
o General property maintenance
* Diagnosing faults and completing repairs on first visit where possible
* Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and in line with health & safety regulations
* Working in occupied MOD homes, maintaining professionalism at all times
* Accurately recording works completed and reporting to your supervisor
* Driving a company van safely and responsibly
Requirements:
* Proven experience as a MultTrade Operative / Multiskilled Engineer
* Strong skills across multiple trades (carpentry, plumbing, decorating, etc.)
* Experience working in social housing, MOD, or similar environments preferred
* Good problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently
* Excellent customer service and communication skills
* Full UK Driving Licence
* Ability to pass DBS and MOD security clearance checks
