We are seeking an exceptional Deputy Bursar to provide senior strategic financial leadership and support the Bursar in ensuring the College’s enduring financial strength and resilience.
The Role
Reporting to the Bursar, you will lead on the strategic management of the College’s investments, endowment, reserves and long-term financial resources, ensuring they are aligned with the College’s long-term objectives.
Key responsibilities include:

Leading financial modelling, forecasting and scenario analysis to support strategic and estates decisions

Supporting investment governance, performance monitoring and asset allocation
*
Overseeing treasury, liquidity and borrowing arrangements, including for major capital projects
*
Supporting business cases, capital appraisals and financial due diligence
*
Contributing to financial risk management and reporting to the Finance and Resources Committee
*
Acting as a trusted adviser to Fellows, senior staff and College committees
This is a high-impact role combining technical expertise with strategic judgement, with scope to influence decisions of lasting institutional significance.
About You
You will be a fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with significant senior-level experience in financial management, investment oversight or treasury (minimum five years post-qualification).
You will bring:

Sound understanding of investment governance and risk management

Experience advising senior stakeholders, trustees or committees

The ability to communicate effectively with academic and non-financial audiences

A collaborative, pragmatic and solutions-focused approach
Experience within higher education or the not-for-profit sector, particularly in relation to endowments or investment portfolios, would be advantageous but is not essential.
