Position Title: Warehouse Administrator Monday to Friday 13:00-21:30 £13.69ph Responsibilities Work effectively in a dynamic environment, meeting deadlines while prioritizing tasks and escalating issues when necessary. Liaise with suppliers (e.g., parcel carriers, transport providers) to meet warehousing and dispatch requirements. Produce operational reports as requested by the line manager. Record daily dispatch data accurately, meeting customer requirements. Collaborate with the wider team to ensure smooth facility operations. Stay informed about company business goals and actively support them. Deliver high standards of customer service with minimal supervision. Professionally handle incoming customer phone calls and emails. Provide timely and accurate information regarding warehousing and dispatch queries. Follow Metro Supply Chain and customer-specific complaints procedures. Understand individual customer requirements and take appropriate action. Show flexibility in handling tasks and changing priorities. Manage time efficiently to meet internal and external expectations. Fulfil varied customer needs across closed and open book accounts. Update and maintain customer portals and systems as required. Occasionally support team members with less experience or training. Site-Specific Responsibilities (where applicable): Follow documented work instructions in compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards. Report any non-conformances within the ISO-accredited management system. Raise concerns or anticipated changes that could affect compliance with ISO systems. Adhere to environmental procedures and report risks to personnel or the environment. Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and local authority requirements. Coordinate closely with warehouse staff to support end-to-end operations. Experience Previous experience in a warehousing or logistics environment (preferred). Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and operational platforms is an advantage. Key Skills & Competencies Strong communication skills written and verbal. High level of customer service awareness and professionalism. Excellent organisational and time-management abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Outlook, Teams, and Excel. Strong general IT skills; ability to adapt to multiple systems. Experience in stock control or inventory management (preferred). Ability to use initiative in resolving day-to-day challenges. Works effectively both independently and within a team. Positive attitude, enthusiastic approach to customer interactions. Ability to provide clear communication across all levels of the business. Maintains a customer-focused approach while being commercially aware. Customer Service & Our Way Culture Collaborate with Metro colleagues in a team-oriented environment. Report all hazards and unsafe conditions to management. Operate equipment safely and responsibly. Avoid actions that may put self or others at risk. Education & Certifications Preferred: NVQ Level 2 in Business Administration or equivalent. Working Conditions Based in an office environment with occasional work in the warehouse as needed.
