Role Overview:
We’re looking for a Mechanical or Electrical Design Engineer with experience in renewable energy to support the design of systems such as solar PV, wind, or battery storage. This is a fully remote, contract role suitable for an independent, technically capable engineer.
Key Responsibilities:
* Produce and review detailed system designs, schematics, and layouts.
* Support feasibility studies, calculations, and system optimization.
* Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., IEC, BS, NEC).
* Collaborate remotely with multidisciplinary teams.
* Contribute to technical documentation, specifications, and installation planning.
* Use relevant software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit, ETAP).
Requirements:
* Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
* Proven design experience in the renewables sector.
* Proficient in design tools and engineering software.
* Strong understanding of solar, wind, battery, or power distribution systems.
* Effective communicator, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
Desirable: Chartered status, grid integration knowledge, or BIM experience.
