Job Description
Rikama Education Ltd are working with a local SEN School that caters for children aged 11 to 19. The children need a more structured smaller class environment to best develop and have more specific needs. The pupils' conditions include: ASD, behaviour that challenges and more complex needs including some students with more profound needs. We are looking for an experienced Male TA (Due to the nature of the students – Health and safety) both after the half term and also after the summer break for long term assignments across KS3 & 4 as well as post 16.
Duties will include:
1. Assist in the management and administration of medication and medical intervention.
2. Support the teacher in managing disruptive and challenging behaviour in line with Charlton Park Academy’s Behaviour Management Policy and promote positive behaviour around the school.
3. Support pupils’ social and emotional well-being, recognizing signs of distress in children and offering reassurance, and reporting problems to the teacher as appropriate.
4. Promote the pupils’ inclusion within the school, their independence skills in communication, learning and social skills.
5. Assist pupils with eating, dressing, and hygiene, as required, whilst encouraging independence.
6. Attend to pupils’ personal care needs to ensure their wellbeing, safeguarding and health and safety.
7. Assist with break-time supervision including facilitating games and activities.
