Role responsibilities
The Financial Accountant is responsible for ensuring accuracy of Transport for Wales Rail Limited (TfWRL)’s financial reporting and integrity of its balance sheet as well as accountability in the finance operating processes.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
* Own the production and interpretation of the annual financial statements for Transport for Wales Rail Limited
* Oversee the accurate completion and timely submission of all relevant regulatory returns and other non-financial reporting requirements
* Liaise with external technical advisors such as hedge / pension / tax
* Plan and project manage the period end reporting process for TfWRL
* Support the production of the periodic TfWRL management accounts and TfWRL Board report
Who we’re looking for
* Qualified with demonstrable experience.
* Experience in producing statutory financial statements.
* Experience in project managing month-end financial reporting process.
* Experience with balance sheet reviews.
* Knowledge and experience in the application of accounting policies.
* Knowledge in advanced EXCEL and the creation of dashboards.
Welsh Language Skills
The ability to speak/write Welsh would make a great addition to your application, but it is not essential for this role.
