Join us for the Senior IT Systems Engineer role at Global ATS LTD - Aviation Training Services. Global ATS is a leading aviation training provider with headquarters in Gloucestershire, offering a suite of approved and specialist courses that shape the future of aviation safety.
Purpose of job: As a Senior IT Systems Engineer you will report directly to the Group IT Manager and be responsible for developing, implementing, maintaining and supporting the IT infrastructure across the three sites at Global ATS. This includes managing hardware, software, networks, servers, and databases. The Senior IT Systems Engineer will ensure that Global ATS’s IT infrastructure and mission-critical Simulator operations are reliable, secure, and efficient, aligned with the organisation’s business needs and goals.
Responsibilities
* Identify and resolve issues on hardware, software, or network connectivity across the Simulator and Office networks, and log these issues.
* Oversee the IT helpdesk system to meet targeted SLA.
* Installation and Configuration: Lead the installation and configuration of hardware, software, and network systems to ensure optimal performance and security.
* Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to IT systems, hardware, software, and networks. Provide 2nd and 3rd line support.
* Security: Monitor security measures to protect data, networks, and systems from unauthorised access, theft, or damage.
* Maintenance and Upgrades: Perform routine maintenance and upgrades of IT systems, hardware, software, and networks to ensure optimal performance.
* Documentation: Document system configurations, procedures, and processes for IT staff and end-users.
* Training: Provide inductions and follow-up training and support to end-users on IT systems, hardware, software and security.
* Budget and Reporting: Contribute to monthly reports and the annual IT budget.
* Line Management: One direct report, conduct 1-to-1s and appraisals.
Technical Requirements
Windows Server, Azure, O365, SharePoint, Intune, Active Directory Group Policy, VMWare configuration and administration, advanced network and firewall configuration – VLANs, AP, SSL and IPSEC, antivirus and security technologies, Veeam backup, HP SAN. A formal Microsoft qualification and experience of IT help desk operations.
