Science Teaching Role in a Secondary School
A well-established secondary school in Wolverhampton is seeking to appoint a Science Teacher to join its department from September. This is a full-time role within a supportive and inclusive school that values scientific curiosity, academic progress, and high-quality teaching.
Science is a core subject within the school, with students encouraged to develop investigative skills, scientific knowledge, and analytical thinking across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
About the Role
You will teach Science across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5, delivering engaging and well-structured lessons that support strong progress and student achievement.
The role includes both classroom teaching and practical laboratory work, helping students develop confidence in experimentation, data analysis, and scientific reasoning.
You will prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Science examinations, supporting them in achieving strong academic outcomes and progression to further education.
You will work collaboratively within a committed Science department focused on improving outcomes and maintaining high standards of teaching and learning.
Key Responsibilities
* Teach Science across KS3, KS4, and KS5
* Deliver lessons across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics
* Plan and deliver engaging theoretical and practical lessons
* Supervise laboratory practical work and ensure safe practice
* Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level examinations
* Assess, track, and report on student progress
* Contribute to curriculum planning and development
* Support enrichment and STEM activities

Candidate Requirements
Essential Requirements
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* Experience teaching Science at secondary level
* Ability to teach KS3 and KS4 confidently
* Strong subject knowledge in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics
* Strong classroom management skills
Desirable
* Experience teaching A-Level Science
* Experience working in a diverse or inner-city school setting
* Ability to contribute to enrichment or STEM programmes
* Strong exam preparation experience
