We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Facility Security Officer to join our existing experienced team.
What do we look for in a Facility Security Officer?
We are powered by brilliant people. As a Facility Security Officer, you will demonstrate a knowledge of the following:
Role Responsibilities
* Knowledge of MOD security policies, JSPs (e.g. JSP 440), and government security standards
* Experience implementing physical, personnel, and information security measures
* Ability to maintain compliance with security regulations and audit requirements
* Day‑to‑day management of the facility
* Experience managing secure buildings or government/military facilities
* Oversight of contractors working in secure environments
* Managing keys, passes, visitor control, and access permissions
* Supporting business continuity and emergency planning
* Ability to conduct security risk assessments and produce mitigation plans
* Monitoring threats and vulnerabilities affecting facilities
* Supporting internal and external security auditsEnsuring secure storage of classified materials
* Liaising with military personnel, civil servants, contractors, and security teams
* Delivering security briefings and awareness training
* Writing clear reports and maintaining accurate security records
* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to challenge non‑compliance appropriately
* Support Health & Safety coordination, including policies, risk assessments (DSE), logs and training
* Support and facilitate routine checks, inductions, drills, and contractor management
* Ensure statutory compliance (fire, electrical, water hygiene, etc.)
What we’re looking for
Essential
* Experience in MOD policies and procedures
* Experience in Physical Security and facilities management
* Experience in incident response and management
* Highly organised, reliable, and discreet
* Strong communication and stakeholder skills
* Eligible for and willing to obtain high‑level clearance
Desirable
* IOSH Managing Safely, First Aid or Fire Warden
* Familiarity with access control, CCTV or alarm systems
* Experience supporting an office fit out or systems upgrade
