Offer description

Vision for Education are seeking reliable and dedicated individuals who are eager to begin a career working in schools. If you’re interested in working in education but have not yet gained experience as a Trainee Teaching Assistant (TA), we are offering a limited number of places in the Gainsborough area to join our National Teaching Assistant programme starting from January.

Would you like to pursue a career in education but need the right training to get started?
You will receive comprehensive training and ongoing support, culminating in a paid 5-day placement within a primary school in Gainsborough or nearby areas. After completing the placement, we can offer you day-to-day, short-term, or long-term roles as a Trainee Teaching Assistant (TA) within local schools. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone who has always wanted to work as a Teaching Assistant but lacks hands-on experience in a school setting. Candidates should be willing to travel to surrounding areas for placements.

In partnership with our client schools, we will provide the successful Trainee Teaching Assistant (TA) with high-quality training and paid on-the-job experience.
Following a successful interview and subject to safeguarding, suitability, and identity checks, we will work to secure a paid placement in a school to help develop your skills further. You will receive support to help determine whether you would prefer to work in primary, secondary, or SEND provisions, along with ongoing support from a dedicated consultant.

The role of a Teaching Assistant is crucial in supporting the day-to-day operations of schools. The most effective Teaching Assistants possess excellent communication skills and can build positive relationships with pupils and staff quickly and effectively. Depending on the school and role, you may assist with managing behaviour, supporting interventions, or providing additional support to children with SEND (special educational needs and disabilities). You will also help record and report on pupil progress and behaviour to ensure children are making good progress.

Requirements
To be considered for the Trainee Teaching Assistant (TA) role within the National Teaching Assistant Programme, you should:

Be compassionate, understanding, and caring
Ability to build positive relationships with children and young people
Passionate and motivated to improve outcomes for children and young people
Flexible, proactive, and a team player
Have a strong appreciation for safeguarding children and young people
Be able to explain during the interview why you want to start a career in education and your understanding of a Teaching Assistant’s role in the school community
Be committed to completing training and participating in ongoing CPD
Be willing to pay for an enhanced DBS check and register with the Update Service
Be a driver
Vision for Education is dedicated to safeguarding children, young people, and vulnerable adults. We undertake thorough interviews and reference checks for all staff and require an Enhanced DBS check, which must be registered on the Update Service.

As a Trainee Teaching Assistant (TA) with us, you will benefit from:

Excellent daily rates paid via the PAYE system (rates depend on experience, qualifications, and scale)
Pension contributions (subject to qualifying period)
Full compliance with AWR (Agency Workers’ Regulations) to ensure fair pay and working conditions
