Graduate Teaching Assistant

Contract: Full-Time
Pay: £90–£105 per day (depending on experience)

At Teaching Personnel, we are working with a supportive and inclusive school in South Shields to recruit a passionate Graduate Teaching Assistant to join their team.
This is an excellent opportunity for graduates considering a future in teaching, educational psychology, counselling, or youth work. You’ll gain first-hand experience in a classroom environment while supporting pupils both academically and personally.

The Role
Your responsibilities will include:
* Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils
* Assisting teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons
* Helping pupils build confidence, resilience, and independence
* Supporting positive behaviour and classroom engagement
* Encouraging a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment
* Building strong relationships with pupils, staff, and parents where appropriate
* Gaining valuable practical experience within a school setting
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for graduates who are:
* Educated to degree level (all subject backgrounds considered)
* Passionate about working with children and young people
* Positive, adaptable, and eager to learn
* Confident communicators with strong interpersonal skills
* Committed to supporting pupils’ wellbeing and development
* Able to work collaboratively as part of a school team
* Experienced working with young people (desirable but not essential)
* In possession of an enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willing to apply for one
