Monday thru Friday, 8am-5pm
Position Description
Position Summary
The Registrar’s Office student workers are responsible for assisting students, faculty and other constituents to navigate the academic procedures and policies set forth by the office and the University. In addition, the student workers will assist Office staff with day-to-day office functions.
Major Preferred Experience Required
* PREFERRED: Previous experience working in a professional office environment.
Experience Preferred Skills, Characteristics Required For Position
* ESSENTIAL: Personable, friendly and professional attitude and appearance; detail-oriented and organized; possess working knowledge of basic computer skills (e.g. MS Word and Excel) and a willingness to learn other programs; ability to alphabetize, file and record information accurately; answer phones and appropriately handle visitors with questions; maintain confidentiality of student information in accordance with University policies and legal requirements (e.g. Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act.).
Dress Code Requirements
Dress and shoes should be clean, neat and appropriate for a professional office setting.
Special Working Conditions
Preferred ability to lift approximately 25 pound boxes or large bags of shredded paper.
Background Check Required No Primary Duties
* Answer phones and assist visitors to the office; Accurately and politely address students, faculty, parents and other inquiries related to academic policies and procedures as appropriate.
* Distribute and file forms and correspondence.
* Shred documents according to the cycle of appropriate record retention.
* Scan and index documents, including but not limited to grade rosters, changes of grades and academic transcripts.
* Assist office members with special projects, general office workflow and data maintenance.
* Maintain consistent and reliable attendance.
* Query and update student education records in Banner, including demographic information, registration and academic history.
* Maintain knowledge of native Banner, Self-Service Banner, Falcon Link, and Degree Works to help field questions from students, faculty and parents.
Secondary Duties
* Assist with special events, such as Commencement and new student registration.
* Other duties as assigned.
