Join our team! We are seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual to join our friendly orthoptic department at Hampshire Hospitals. The department covers three main hospital sites: Winchester, Basingstoke, and Andover.
Our team consists of five orthoptists, two paediatric ophthalmologist/motility and nystagmus specialists. We collaborate closely with optometrists, ophthalmologists, other specialties, junior doctors, and outpatient departments across the trust. We also participate in placements for undergraduate, master's orthoptic students, and STP audiologist students.
We offer CPD opportunities through regular team meetings, audits, and funding for external courses. The post requires travel between hospital sites and community clinics; a free bus service is available between Winchester and Basingstoke Hospital.
The successful candidate will develop their knowledge and skills through a varied caseload, including core orthoptic, adult ocular motility, and paediatric clinics linked with ophthalmologists. There are also refraction clinics with optometrists and orthoptic-led sessions using plus optics.
Candidates must have a degree/diploma in Orthoptics and current registration with HCPC.
Our vision is to provide outstanding patient care across our three sites: Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital, Royal Hampshire County Hospital in Winchester, and Andover War Memorial Hospital.
