Overview
Applications are invited for the position of SCD Intelligence Support Officer within the Intelligence Bureau at Chelmsford Police Station Essex or Northfleet Kent. This is a home‑based role with a requirement to attend the office roughly once per week. Starting salary £27,492 (pro‑rata for part‑time vacancies) with potential rise to £31,731. The role focuses on assessing threat, harm and risk through intelligence while also identifying opportunities for proactive policing.
Responsibilities
* Assess and analyse intelligence to determine threat, harm and risk.
* Conduct research for intelligence requests from partner agencies such as Probation.
* Link and research reports ensuring accuracy and quality of intelligence.
* Support live incidents and long‑term investigations requiring meticulous attention to detail.
Qualifications
* Ability to make informed decisions and maintain high standards of service delivery.
* Openness to changing ideas and reflective improvement of performance.
* Strong interpersonal skills and ability to form working relationships with colleagues.
* Understanding of the importance of data quality and proactive record keeping.
* Good IT skills; experience with various IT applications.
Working Pattern
Full Time, Permanent. Shift pattern Monday to Friday 0730‑1800 (0730‑1530 and 1000‑1800 on alternating weeks) with weekends and bank holidays on a rota basis. Home‑based with occasional office attendance.
