Role Purpose As an Underwriting Assistant in the Cyber Team, you provide essential support to underwriters in evaluating, pricing, and managing cyber risk portfolios. You ensure that underwriting processes run smoothly, efficiently, and in compliance with company standards, while also serving as a key liaison between internal teams, brokers, and external stakeholders. ________________________________________ Key Responsibilities Underwriting Support • Assist underwriters in preparing and reviewing submissions from brokers, ensuring completeness and accuracy of information. • Input risk and policy data into underwriting systems (e.g., ARPS or Finance platforms). • Generate and maintain quote sheets, binders, deal memos and policy documentation. • Track, file and process renewals, endorsements, and mid-term contract changes. • Assist with producing presentation materials for key internal and external stakeholders. • Attend and process underwriting audits of existing clients. Cyber Risk Data & Analysis • Gather, validate, and organize cyber risk data from submissions. • Prepare and run exposure models and produce summaries for underwriter review. • Support the monitoring of portfolio performance and aggregation control across cyber classes. • Assist with research on emerging cyber threats, loss events, and industry trends. • Support the continual improvement and updated view of Ariel Re’s Cyber view of risk. Broker & Client Interaction • Communicate with brokers to request missing information, clarify terms, and follow up on outstanding items. • Support underwriters in preparing for presentations and renewal discussions and capturing and documenting key discussion points and information from client meetings. • Ensure timely responses to broker inquiries to maintain strong relationships. Operational & Administrative Duties • Maintain orderly and accurate electronic files, ensuring compliance with regulatory and Lloyd’s requirements. • Coordinate with operations, compliance, and claims teams as needed. • Support reporting requirements for internal management and external regulators. • Track and monitor expected premium income from in-force deals and support the review of ultimate premium income estimates. • Contribute to process improvements and best practice initiatives within the Cyber team. • Review and prepare materials for underwriting audit and peer reviews. ________________________________________ Skills & Competencies • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. • Proficiency in Excel and exposure to underwriting/portfolio systems. • Good written and verbal communication for liaising with brokers and colleagues. • Interest in cyber risk, technology, and reinsurance market dynamics. ________________________________________ Career Development This role provides a foundation for progressing into an Assistant Underwriter or Underwriter position within the Cyber team.
