We have a permanent part-time role for a Finance Assistant, supporting the Finance department with the following day to day activities:
* Completion of financial tasks within the hospice and its subsidiary companies, ensuring they are managed in a timely way
* Monitoring the accounts inbox, entering incoming invoices into the workflow system, notifying team members of requests and answering queries.
* Daily bank transaction entering to ensure the financial integrity of the organisation and its accounts.
* Cash handling in the form of distributing & recording petty cash and counting and banking money donations.
* Supporting the smooth financial operation of the organisation.
* To support the Finance Team with a willingness to be involved in all areas of finance including retail & lottery functions.
* To support all aspects of the organisation's financial processes.
* Support the financial reporting activities of the charity subsidiary companies (retail and lottery).

Lewis-Manning Hospice Care is an independent charity that provides services to local people living with life-limiting illnesses, and their carers. We are in an exciting phase of our development. As the NHS continues to be under pressure and become more reactive, we are offering a proactive approach to managing health and wellbeing.
We are choosing to focus on 'living well', spending time with our patients and carers and providing supportive care from diagnosis.
We are based in the centre of Poole and have satellite hubs throughout the locality including Swanage, Wimborne and Bournemouth.
We currently offer a Day Hospice "Health and Wellbeing Program", A Virtual Day Hospice, a Lymphoedema Service, a Bereavement and Family Support Service, Complementary Therapy and a Breathlessness Service.
Is it you we're looking for?
Reporting directly to the Finance Co-Ordinator, this role will assist the Finance team in ensuring processes, controls, financial vision, and daily financial administration are in place for the long-term financial viability of the charity.
Day to day, your duties will include taking ownership of the account's inbox, entering daily banking transactions, and overseeing the distribution and recording of petty cash, in addition to supporting other existing financial processes and procedures.
The successful candidate will collaborate with both the hospice and its subsidiary companies, aiding all their financial activities. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to launch their career in finance or gain valuable experience within a seasoned and supportive finance team. The successful candidate must enjoy working as part of the wider team, with good communication and organisation skills.
You will have good analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to prioritise a varied workload and to work effectively under pressure meeting strict deadlines. You will be IT proficient, especially in Excel, with excellent attention to detail. You will have a proven track record of developing and maintaining effective working relationships with staff.
You will be educated to GCSE or equivalent standard and will have experience of working with a range of IT and Administration / Accounting systems with a solid understanding of excel, word and outlook.
