We’re seeking a self-assured and driven Buying Officer to join our team at Motherwell for a 14-month maternity cover. This position is well-suited for an enthusiastic, proactive team member who excels in a dynamic and fast-paced setting, enjoys working under pressure, possesses a keen awareness of quality, and demonstrates a high level of attention to detail.

What you'll do
1. Drafting contracts for the Scottish Buying team
2. Generating purchasing notifications for Suppliers
3. Securing price confirmations for Suppliers after the end of negotiations
4. Collecting data from Suppliers for the Scottish Buying team and checking for plausibility
5. Setting up and maintaining master data in the Purchasing systems
6. Implementing basic training for new, international and non-specialist employees
7. Updating and maintaining Training material for all processes within the team
8. Involvement in the optimisation of processes
9. Preparation of weekly reports
What you'll need
10. German speakers preferred
11. Excellent attention to detail
12. Self-motivated, able to work well in a team and independently within a high-pressured environment
13. Demonstrates strong organisational skills with the capacity to manage multiple tasks while adhering to targets and stringent deadlines
14. Excellent time management skills
15. A high degree of adaptability
16. A confident approach with excellent communication skills
17. Pro-active, approaching problems logically and calmly
18. Fully proficient in Microsoft Office
19. Positive can-do attitude with the willingness to learn
