West London NHS Trust’s Community Rehabilitation Services has been operational for approximately 3 years and has recently gone through a period of review. We are in the process of consolidating the changes needed to improve the services on the back of the review and the Senior Practitioner will have a key role in supporting the required changes. The emphasis of these improvements is to ensure that the service meets and exceeds the current quality standards for community rehab for psychosis. More robust professional leadership and development is fundamental to us achieving our ambitions and this post is a significant building block in establishing the right skill mix required to take us into the future. Currently, this post is ringfenced for nursing applicants only, as this is where we have a professional leadership gap.
Main duties of the job
These are exciting times for community rehabilitation services and we would welcome applications from those who would like to be part of this journey. What we are looking for are highly motivated and enthusiastic nurses with a passion and experience in psychosocial rehabilitation who are excited by service development. The successful applicant will be supported by senior and professional management, as well as by a highly engaged team who are keen to continue to make positive changes. Previous experience of working within a rehabilitation setting (or similar service) is essential for this post, as is commitment, flexibility, drive and creativity in meeting the challenges for the team as we move into the future. Additionally, there are wider developments across the wider North West London rehabilitation pathway that offer further significant opportunities for professional and career development.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
1. MSc in Advanced Clinical Practitioner training or completion of Accreditation of prior learning (APL) or a willingness to engage in further advanced practice training
2. Current NMC registration
3. Clinical supervision training and experience
4. Additional training in psychosocial rehabilitation or an affiliated field of study
Desirable criteria
5. NHS leadership qualification
6. Non-medical prescriber qualification
7. Post graduate/ qualification in teaching, Quality improvement or research

Knowledge and Experience
Essential criteria
9. Significant post registration experience of at least 2 years in nursing at a senior level
10. Have an extensive portfolio of Mental Health Practitioner experience, of which a significant proportion will be within a psychosocial rehab context
11. Sound knowledge of local and national health policy, including RCP quality standards on Community Psychosis Rehabilitation and NICE guidance
12. Autonomous patient consultation including clinical history taking, formulation and treatment planning
13. Independent management of a clinical caseload
14. Evidence of expert clinical practice and judgement within rehabilitation practice
15. Leadership across organisation and within a team
16. Demonstrate a significant contribution to education, practice and service development internally and externally
17. Evidence of incorporating research and evidence into practice
