The Oxford University Hospitals (OUH) digital programme is a key enable of the Trust’s strategic objectives and digital vision.
The Senior Projects Manager will be responsible for the successful delivery of large, complex projects agreed through the annual planning process, working with resources assigned and governed through the Programme Management Group.
The post holder will also be expected to provide line or matrix management to a small team within the digital programme and demonstrate the capability to lead, coordinate, and support multi‑disciplinary teams in a complex, digitally enabled healthcare environment.
Main duties of the job
We are seeking an experienced Senior Digital Projects Manager to lead the delivery of complex, organisation‑wide digital programmes, and digital‑enabled benefits realisation. This is a senior project manager role within the Digital Programme team, combining strategic oversight, expert project management, and subject matter leadership.
The postholder will be responsible for driving robust governance and PMO standards, leading multidisciplinary project teams, and working closely with executive leaders, clinical and operational stakeholders, and external suppliers. You will analyse and resolve highly complex digital and business challenges, often where information is incomplete or conflicting, and present clear, evidence‑based options to support informed decision‑making.
You will play a key role in stakeholder engagement, change adoption, and benefits realisation, ensuring that digital solutions are effectively implemented and embedded across the organisation. This role requires strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and the ability to influence at all levels, including senior and executive level.
