As our Alcohol Substance Misuse Nurse based in Rotherham, you will provide a range of Health and Wellbeing, and harm reduction interventions to our clients in accordance with the agreed model of service delivery. You will deliver high standards of nursing care to substance misusers and be responsible for the assessment of care needs, development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care.
Main duties of the job
You will be an advocate for our clients, working closely with them to identify the physical, psychological, spiritual and social support they need. The postholder will work flexibly providing a high standard of nursing care in a variety of settings, promoting the health and wellbeing of clients whilst maintaining a safe, caring and therapeutic environment. As an Alcohol Substance Misuse Nurse, you will participate as an active member of the nursing and multi-disciplinary teams, accountable for your practice, and work in partnership with other health care professionals, psycho-social case managers, patients, and others in the delivery of care. The role will also include hospital liaison duties, administering vaccinations and medication, and conducting health screenings such as phlebotomy, BBV screening, vital signs monitoring, withdrawal scales, and treatment compliance for clients undergoing detoxification.

Qualifications
* Registered Nurse with Valid registration via the NMC
Experience
* Comprehensive assessment of needs including risk assessments
* Experience working within substance misuse
* Delivering nursing interventions in community settings
* Knowledge of drug and alcohol issues
* Planning and providing harm reduction and recovery solutions
* Safe storage, handling, and administration of drugs, especially controlled drugs
* Understanding of NMC code of conduct
* Knowledge of risk assessment and management
* Understanding of agency roles in responding to drug and alcohol issues
* Ability to work constructively with diverse groups and individuals
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
