BERA is offering an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to join our office team as a Journals Development Officer.

You will work with the Association’s office staff, Publications Committee, editorial teams and boards, and external publishing partner to support the publication of our four highly regarded academic journals: British Educational Research Journal (BERJ), British Journal of Educational Technology (BJET), Review of Education and The Curriculum Journal.

This is a permanent, part-time position (0.4 to 0.5 full-time equivalent – between 2 and 2.5 days a week) reporting to the BERA Publications Manager.


Key responsibilities

This post plays a key role in fulfilling BERA’s strategic priorities by supporting the success and development of our journals portfolio. It involves building excellent relationships with the journal editors, publishing partner and other stakeholders to:

* Support the development and implementation of strategic initiatives for the BERA journals portfolio in line with the broader BERA Strategic Plan and priorities for individual journals.
* Assist the BERA journal editors to develop and engage with their editorial boards.
* Support the promotion of the BERA journals.
* Handle day-to-day and ad hoc administration tasks related to the BERA journals portfolio.

Working arrangements, salary & benefits

* Contract: Permanent, part-time (0.4 to 0.5 full-time equivalent [FTE] – between 2 and 2.5 days a week).
