As an MSL, you will be responsible for providing scientific/medical support to internal and external customers in response to clinical interest from stakeholders. Deliver the sharing of knowledge to internal partners, e.g., through provision of training to help ensure the highest standards of brand/therapy expertise in customer-facing teams. Provide insights to the UK Medical Affairs (MAF) team and respective Country Value Team (CVT) to help optimize brand/therapy medical strategy.

This is a field-based position, working in a team of MSLs, aligned to the North Central region reporting to the IBD Medical Lead.

Key Responsibilities

* Maintain scientific expertise through attendance at key conferences, training sessions, and preceptorships to translate data into actionable knowledge (both virtual and in-person). Respond to unsolicited requests for information and data.
* Present clinical and scientific data in a balanced manner to Leading Specialists and Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) in group and one-on-one settings (virtual and in-person).
* The MSL role requires extensive travel for meetings across the region, as well as attending national and international conferences.
* Build positive relationships with HCPs based on scientific credibility. Develop scientific communication materials (e.g., slide presentations) for HCP dissemination and provide congress support.
* Implement a regional scientific leadership strategy through informed dialogue with Leading Specialists.
* Manage relationships with all Leading Specialists (LS) in the region, ensuring development and sustainability through engagement plans.
* Lead/participate in medical and scientific forums (e.g., advisory boards and CMEs) and collaborate with the Medical Manager to develop and review educational content.
* Support Phase IIIB/IV local and global clinical development programs and data collection initiatives, contributing to regional site identification, patient recruitment, and follow-up. Assist in interpreting results, conducting post-hoc analyses, and collaborating on research with investigators.
* Support investigator-initiated studies by assessing research requests and aligning investigator interests with Janssen’s needs to ensure successful study execution and completion.

Qualifications

* Strong scientific background with a biomedical or pharmacy degree; an MSc or PhD is a plus.
* A minimum of 3 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry or research environment is preferred, along with experience as an MSL and knowledge of the UK National Health Service (NHS).
* Preferred expertise in IBD (Inflammatory Bowel Disease), with a consistent track record of contributions to commercial, medical, and clinical development strategies.
* Demonstrated experience managing clinical/scientific programs autonomously and participating in UK cross-functional brand teams, with strong knowledge of GCP, R&D code, and Healthcare Compliance policies.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of simplifying complex information for diverse audiences, along with critical thinking and project management skills impacting decision-making.
* Proven ability to learn quickly, build relationships, take initiative, multitask, and stay updated on emerging data and trends in the therapeutic area.
