About the role
A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF
I am a gentleman in my forties living in the Williamstown area of the Rhondda. I am a funny character and love to socialise, I will chat to everyone and anyone. I would really enjoy going to the beach in the summer with my potential PA, going for a coffee, going swimming and many other activities. I love all kinds of sport but two of the main ones are football and boxing. I used to box competitively prior to a road traffic accident which resulted in physical disabilities. I am determined to walk without assistance from crutches so the gym is one of the main places I would like to go to with my potential PA to practise walking.
Purpose of the job
I am looking to employ a personal assistant who can help me to access the gym, shares my interests and is a good companion. Also to support me with my daily living needs whilst my personal assistant is on holiday and/or covering sickness. This would involve daily support to include showering, drying and dressing. Making my bed and preparing breakfast. In addition there will be associated domestic chores like cleaning and laundry.
Rate of pay
£12.85 per hour
Hours of work
I require a PA to cover holidays and sickness etc.
Tasks can include
* Supporting me to shave, shower, dry and dress myself
* Preparing me breakfast and other meals
* Light domestic tasks like cleaning and laundry
* Providing me with companionship during the day
* Attending the gym with me
* Supporting me in the community
* Supporting me with leisure activities
Type of person required
* Car driver to drive my mobility vehicle
* Somebody comfortable with carrying out personal care
* Flexible with hours of work
* Confident and able to work on your own initiative
* Respectful of other people’s homes and property
* Someone quite active and energetic
* Friendly and talkative
About the job
Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid four weekly and appropriate holiday pay given.
The post is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS (Police) Check - which will need to be carried out before employment can commence. The cost of this will be met by the employer (Local Authority).
