Commercial & Technology Solicitor (1–5 PQE)

A top regional law firm is seeking a Commercial & Technology Solicitor (1–5 years PQE) to join its highly regarded Commercial & Technology team in Reading.
The team is recognised as Tier 1 in the Legal 500 and ranked in Chambers for its work, advising a diverse client base ranging from global and international businesses to fast-growing UK companies and entrepreneurial start-ups.
This is an excellent opportunity to join one of the region’s most innovative commercial and technology practices, working closely with experienced partners and advising clients operating at the forefront of technology, media and digital sectors.
The Role
You will advise on a wide range of commercial, technology and intellectual property matters, supporting both UK and international clients.
The role will include:
* Drafting and negotiating commercial contracts and technology agreements
* Advising on software development, licensing and implementation agreements
* Supporting clients on IT infrastructure deployment and outsourcing arrangements
* Advising on data licensing, distribution and commercial supply agreements
* Working with businesses in technology, media, publishing, retail and hospitality sectors
* Providing commercial advice to the UK and EMEA operations of US-owned companies
* Advising on intellectual property matters, both contentious and non-contentious
* Supporting clients on IP protection and potential infringement issues
For many clients, the firm acts as external legal counsel, providing ongoing day-to-day commercial advice and developing long-term trusted relationships.

Candidate Profile
You will:
* Be a UK qualified Solicitor with 1–5 years PQE
* Have experience in commercial contracts and technology-related work
* Possess strong contract law knowledge
* Demonstrate excellent legal analysis, drafting and communication skills
* Have an interest in or experience advising on intellectual property matters including trademarks, patents or infringement claims
Experience or exposure in one or more of the following areas would be beneficial:
* Software and computer technology
* Information and communications technology
* Media and publishing
* Franchising and distribution
* Advertising and marketing
* Medical devices, healthcare or pharmaceuticals
