Our client is a leading UK manufacturer in Rochdale are recruiting for a Junior Buyer to join their established team, reporting to the Head of Supply Chain and Planning. The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing materials, managing suppliers and stock levels, and maintaining accurate data to support production
Key Responsibilities
1. Measure quality of procured items and manage vendor quality issues to a satisfactory conclusion
2. Report any pricing or lead time issues to provide early warning of any adverse market conditions
3. Assist in identifying and reporting risks associated in Supply Chain
4. Research and evaluate prospective vendors and negotiate prices, payment terms, lead times and contracts./ Identify outsourcing opportunities
5. Make/buy information/comparisons
6. Periodic lead time reviews of major vendors
7. Ensure recorded documentation for key vendors is update and maintained - ISO certificates, Supplier questionnaires etc.
8. Maintain prices and lead times within SAP
