HVAC/Mechanical Engineer Full-time /Permanent/ Monday-Friday/ On-call Monday-Sunday HMP Thameside SE28 0FJ Salary: Up to: £33,390 LWA £6,200 per annum (if applicable) Serco is looking for B7 Mechanical Operative. The purpose of the position is to To carry out routine HVAC, Mechanical and some electrical Engineering work, preventative maintenance and repairs. Main Accountabilities: Ability to self-motivate. Ability to use own initiative and to work to tight timescales. Ability to prioritise workload, working in a logical and methodical manner. Ability to communicate effectively at all levels, both in writing and orally (including good telephone manner). To ensure that various pre planned maintenance schedules are kept up to date and maintained as may be required. To assist in multi trade support of other members of the FM service team in completing work. To complete the duties of an HVAC/Mechanical/Electrical Engineer in accordance with their recognised training and qualifications To carry out fault finding and defect rectification to items of installed plant and equipment as may be defined and specified. To carry out the installation of new plant and apparatus as may be defined and specified. To become familiar with the operation and maintenance of the various systems and equipment installed in the whole of the premises as defined or requested. Ability to self-motivate. Additional Features of the role To be a team member of the Facilities “Out of hours” call out roster. What you will need to do the role: HVAC/Mechanical and electrical Engineering Qualification (C&G, NVQ) Membership of relevant technical professional body desired but not essential Additional features of the role: This role provides support to the Serco fleet and can include work across Towage, Passenger Vessels, Pilotage and Barges.
