We have an exciting opportunity for a senior-level Technical Director of Electrical Engineering. This role will serve as the central voice for Electrical Engineering Design, leading and developing this discipline within PM Group. It offers a strategic role to shape the future of our company. This is a full-time, technical position within our design services.
The successful candidate will collaborate with the Director of Engineering, other Discipline Technical Directors, and Heads of Services to ensure efficient and consistent delivery of design services across all 20 design offices. The role aims to improve company performance, ensure safe assets for our clients, and foster a healthy, motivated workforce.
This senior role reports to the Director of Engineering and is responsible for leadership, governance, troubleshooting, and establishing best practices in Electrical Engineering Design.
We offer a flexible, hybrid working environment, with options to work from home up to two days per week. The role can be based in Ireland, the UK, Poland, or Belgium.

Responsibilities
1. PM Group Strategy for Electrical Engineering
* Lead the development of the Electrical Engineering discipline aligned with company strategy and local plans.
* Support Business Units in strengthening departments, identifying competency gaps, and training needs.
* Develop SME areas within Electrical Engineering, such as sustainability.
* Align cross-disciplinary competencies across sectors and technologies.
* Define design activities and deliverables for core sectors to ensure safety and efficiency.
1. Digitalisation of Business Processes / Ways of Working
* Implement strategies for continuous improvement in Electrical Engineering.
* Enhance the Electrical Engineering Service Delivery Platform within our QMS.
* Create standardized group-wide working practices considering local codes and norms.
* Integrate digital design approaches and sector-specific methods.
2. Governance of Design Delivery
* Support sales proposals and project assessments.
* Establish project watch lists based on design challenges and risks.
* Influence early design stages and chair design reviews.
* Review safety documents and contribute to go/no-go decisions on high-risk projects.
3. Troubleshooting
* Act as the first responder for critical electrical design issues.
* Engage with senior team members and clients to resolve issues.
* Define corrective actions and oversee their implementation.
* Update management on progress and outcomes.
Qualifications
* Passion for Electrical Engineering
* Focus on asset safety
* Bachelor’s degree
* Senior management experience in relevant industries
* Knowledge of Pharma, Med Tech, and Data Center sectors
* Membership in a recognized engineering body (e.g., IET)
* Strong technical, commercial, and problem-solving skills
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to collaborate across teams
* Proactive, decisive, and fluent in English
