About the People and Business team Our commercial teams manage ~300 contracts at any one time with a total value of 25BN. This huge scale means that we link closely into MOD and Government commercial networks and best practice via the GCO. You will support the strategic relationship with suppliers and senior internal stakeholders while building collaboration within and across organisational boundaries. You will develop and manage key sourcing activities to meet project goals while minimising risk and ensuring Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) is considered. You will be the trusted advisor in sourcing and commercial initiatives to both stakeholders and your team members, ensuring compliance to the appropriate processes and operating procedures. Person specification As a member of the People and Business team, you will: Assist in the development of the people and business reporting framework, supporting associated engagement with 1* pillars to deliver to the reporting drumbeat. Delivering a proactive Business Management support function to Dir Commercial and 1* pillar which ensures the business operates efficiently and effectively Audit and analysis of corporate people records to ensure compliance against CivHR and GCO people policies and to highlight resource risks and areas for improvement, including development and maintenance of resource forecasts, location data, organisation charts, job descriptions and objectives Assist in the definition and delivery support of an innovative commercial L&D strategy for the department to assess and strengthen commercial and project capability. Develop and drive achievement of the annual training plan defined to set the training priorities and lead associated, engagement, communication and budget prioritisation across the function, including proactive management of the training budget spend, to drive talent management and succession planning and achieve a best in class function Support the implementation of the DIO Commercial Resourcing Strategy with recruitment planning.
