As a Lead Software Engineer / Technical Lead, you'll have the opportunity to architect and code with a future-forward mindset, anticipating scalability and growth. You'll be leading a team or effort, setting direction and taking responsibility for successfully achieving outcomes or deliverables.
In this pivotal role, you'll:
* Design solutions end-to-end, advising on higher-level architectural discussions across the stack.
* Own the development process, building strong principles and robust methods across architecture, code quality, infrastructure, and deployments.
* Model team behaviour for writing specifications, estimating stories, sprint planning, and documentation.
* Actively define and evolve engineering standards and practices, ensuring a shared, modern, and robust approach.
* Influence team discussions with clients on the project, showcasing your technical expertise.
* Coach and mentor others, working with them to build their expertise and understanding.
* Contribute to shaping bids, creating approaches or proposals, and presenting to clients.
To thrive in this role, you'll need:
* Strong experience in web application development using React, Next.js, and JavaScript or TypeScript.
* Expertise in UI engineering, CSS, design systems, and accessibility compliance.
* Proficiency in backend development with Node.js, databases, and ORMs (e.g., Prisma).
* Experience developing cloud-native, serverless, and event-driven solutions in AWS, Azure, or GCP, ideally with developer or architect certification.
* A good understanding of testing practices, principles (TDD, BDD), and associated frameworks (e.g., Cypress and Cucumber).
* Familiarity with agile software development, including iteration, sprints, acceptance criteria, peer review, and estimation techniques.
* Awareness of branching and deployment patterns, infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform), and observability tooling.
